It runs off of AAA batteries that can't even power the jaws back and forth without assistance. I own this wrench and it is a waste of money. You might as well spend the money this thing costs on a good wrench and save yourself the headache.
It is much better than I expected and although it is not the first tool I go for when needing an adjustable wrench, it has proven to be handy in tight places where it is hard to close the jaws on a bolt head. The auto wrench by B&D was a pleasant surprise. The wrench is also designed without a lot of slop in the jaws when closed down on a bolt head.It is not my "best" tool, but I am glad I added it to my collection.WB
So you use the thumbwheel. Now you have another thumbwheel adjustable wrench. After it's been laying around for a while, you try to use it, but you can't until you find and replace the dead battery. Or, the battery is good, but the motor spins and nothing moves because the drive belt (glorified rubber band) broke.
it is heavy and too bulky for the size of nuts it can grab. The only thing this is good for is determining the right size open or closed wrench you will need to actually get the job done. it DOES NOT grip a nut tightly.3. I get real frustrated with most crescent wrenches b/c typically you need to flip the wrench over to get a better grip or more of a rotation and when adjusting the screw it goes in the opposite direction intended. 4.
But this wrench totally fails. is worse than that.1. (for small nuts it is too big to fit in the area and for large nuts it just can not hold tight enough)2. Just when you think you figured out which way on the rocker switch is open and close (and because it is in the handle where you grip the tool) you push the switch the wrong way.DO NOT BUY THIS. I give it 1 Star because I could not give ZERO stars.Like a lot of previous reviewers I felt that any wrench that could instantly tighten or loosen to grasp a nut would be a great idea.
But this P.O.S. nearly every flippin time you can get it to grasp a nut as soon as you move your hand to push or pull you hit the adjust switch and it looses what little grip it had.
bulkier than a regular cresent wrench it is supposed to replace2. stopped working after a month / used 3 timesPlease do yourself or someone you are buying for a favor and don't buy this POS. Con's:1. harder to use the manual adjustment than a regular cresent3.
